We're really pleased to be working with TREEGENERATION, one of our most committed #WILDfundraisers. They're making such a positive difference to people and wildlife in their local community by fundraising for nature reserves in Ceredigion.
Grace Hunt, The Wildlife Trust of South & West Wales' Fundraising Officer
TREEGENERATION is raising money to help The Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales to maintain the Penderi Cliffs nature reserve, located between Llanrhystud and Monk’s Cave in Ceredigion. Nearly 2 km of cliffs are contained within the reserve, with unique scrub of Small-leaved Lime (Tilia cordata) and coves. The principal biological interest of this site is the steeply west-facing Sessile Oak woodlands. Birds include most common woodland species in addition to which Chough, Buzzard, Kestrel, and Raven nest fairly regularly, and Peregrine are often seen. Rock platforms in the southern section provide at low water a convenient hauling-out site for moulting Grey Seal, and young seals are occasionally born on the reserve.
Penderi Cliffs is an open access reserve, and you can go and visit it at any time. The best time to go is spring, through to autumn.
WTSWW is one of 46 Wildlife Trusts across the UK. It covers an area of 9,787 km² in South and West Wales - including around half of Wales’ coastline! They own and manage 110 nature reserves covering 2,007 hectares, 50 of which are designated SSSIs, 10 are National Nature Reserves and 4 are islands, including Skomer and Skokholm island. They have around 800 volunteers and over 10,000 members!
Our target is to generate £250 through direct contributions from people like you, and the direct sale of offers from participating businesses.
